FIX: Updates to the Transaction-safe FAT (TFAT) file system (842067)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows CE .NET 4.2

SYMPTOMS

This update includes fixes for problems that are experienced with the Transaction-safe FAT file system driver (TFAT). This update also enhances TFAT performance.

Following are some of the issues that this update helps resolve:
  • A TFAT volume can become unusable after repeated mounting or unmounting
  • The MoveFile() function is not transaction-safe
  • The SetFileAttributes() function is not transaction-safe

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

Prerequisites

This fix is supported only when all previously issued fixes for this product have also been installed.

Restart requirement

After you install this hotfix, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To clean the platform, click Clean on the Build menu. To build the platform, click Build Platform on the Build menu.

You do not have to restart your computer after you apply this fix.

Hotfix replacement information

This hotfix does not replace any other hotfixes.
