FIX: Memory may be consumed and not freed when a transparent bit block transfer is performed on a DirectDraw surface in Windows CE .NET 4.0 (841979)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Windows CE .NET 4.0, when a transparent bit block (blt) transfer is performed on a DirectDraw surface that uses the DirectDraw hardware emulation layer (HEL), memory may be consumed and not freed. Memory growth in the Graphics, Windowing, and Events Subsystem (GWES) process heap will be visible in diagnostic tools such as Remote Heap Walker.

Restart requirement

After you install this software update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To clean the platform, click Clean on the Build menu. To build the platform, click Build Platform on the Build menu. You do not have to restart your computer after you apply this software update.
