This article describes the Microsoft Excel 2000 issue that
is fixed in the Microsoft Excel 2000 post-Service Pack 3 (SP3) hotfix package
that is dated May 20, 2004.

The following issue is also fixed in this hotfix package but was
not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
- When you import a CSV file to an Excel 2000 workbook that
contains numeric data in the format of
####,####, the format
changes to ##.###. In
this example, # is any number, you are using
European style decimal indicators, the comma is the decimal point symbol, and
full stop is the digital grouping symbol.
