FIX: A memory leak occurs when you run queries in the same connection in Analysis Services (841856)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services

Bug #: 14312 (Plato7x )
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 fixes are distributed as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2000 fix release.

SYMPTOMS

The memory usage of the client process that uses the Pivot Table Services client increases. The memory is consumed if you are running multiple queries in the same connection. The memory leak was approximately 1.3 MB for 5,000 queries. When the connection is released, the memory is also released. The release of the memory is especially important if you are pooling the connections to SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services.

Note The Pivot Table Services client is also referred to as the OLAP 8.0 provider.
