Supported locale ID for regional-neutral Chinese recognizer depends on when and how you request the information in Windows XP Tablet PC Edition Service Pack 2 (SP2) (841769)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition Service Pack 2 (SP2)
- Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition Software Development Kit 1.7
SYMPTOMSThe list of supported locale IDs depends on when and how you request this information on a Tablet PC that is running Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition Service Pack 2 (SP2). - If you request this information before the recognizer DLL is loaded, you receive the following locale IDs:
- Chinese - Taiwan1028
- Chinese - Hong Kong 3076
- Chinese - Macau 5124
- If you request the information after the recognizer DLL is loaded, you receive the following locale IDs:
- Chinese - Taiwan 1028
- Chinese - Hong Kong 3076
- Chinese - Macau 5124
- Chinese - China 4
CAUSEWhen you request the supported locale IDs before the recognizer DLL is loaded, the information is read from the registry.
The registry does not contain the regional-neutral Chinese locale "4". When you request the supported locale IDs after the recognizer DLL is loaded, the supported locale IDs are obtained from the DLL resources of the recognizer.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition Service Pack 2 (SP2).
