The ISA Server Control service stops when you specify a local address table range that starts or ends with IP address 255.255.255.255 in ISA Server 2000 (841634)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000
SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server
2000, you specify a local address table (LAT) range that starts or ends with IP
address 255.255.255.255. The ISA Server Control service (Isactrl) stops and
does not load the rest of the LATs.CAUSEThe problem occurs because the ISA Server Control service
does not correctly parse the Msplat.txt file.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, use one of the following
methods:
- Do not set a LAT entry that starts or ends with
255.255.255.255.
- Manually modify the Msplat.txt file so that the file contains a correct LAT entry. This file is located in the Microsoft Firewall Client folder on the client computer.
