The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange Server 5.0
INTRODUCTIONThis article describes how to enable the ETRN command in conjunction with a dial-up connection in Microsoft Exchange Server 5.0. When you do this, you can send and receive e-mail messages through your Internet service provider (ISP).
In some scenarios, you might have a dial-up connection such as an Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) connection that is configured to your ISP. In this scenario, you may want to use the ETRN command in Exchange to retrieve e-mail messages at certain intervals.
Note You cannot retrieve e-mail messages by using the ETRN command unless your ISP supports this command.
