You may receive an access violation error when you print certain HTML-based attachments in Internet Explorer 6 with Service Pack 1 (841537)

incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems
might require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot
guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own
risk. To resolve this issue, install the Internet
Explorer update rollup that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge
Base article:
871260 An update rollup is available for Internet Explorer versions 5.x and 6.0
After you install the update rollup, follow these
steps to enable the hotfix:
- Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_TABLE_LAYOUT_CACHE_FIX_KB841537 Note If the FeatureControl and FEATURE_TABLE_LAYOUT_CACHE_FIX_KB841537
registry keys do not exist, create these keys.
To create
the FeatureControl
key, follow these steps:
- Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main - Right-click Main, click
New, and then click Key.
- Type FeatureControl for the name
of the new key, and then press ENTER.
To create the FEATURE_TABLE_LAYOUT_CACHE_FIX_KB841537 key, follow these steps:
- Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main\FeatureControl - Right-click FeatureControl, click
New, and then click Key.
- Type
FEATURE_TABLE_LAYOUT_CACHE_FIX_KB841537 for the name of
the new key, and then press ENTER.
- In the left pane, right-click
Iexplore.exe, and then click
Modify.
Note If the Iexplore.exe entry does not
exist, follow these steps to create the entry:
- Right-click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_TABLE_LAYOUT_CACHE_FIX_KB841537 - Click New, click DWORD
Value, type Iexplore.exe for the name of the
new registry entry, and then press ENTER.
- In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, click to select the Hexadecimal
option.
- In the Value data box, type 00000001, and then click
OK.
- Quit Registry Editor.
