Word 2004 for Mac documents that have markup balloons do not print correctly (841489)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word 2004 for Mac
SYMPTOMSMicrosoft Word 2004 for Mac documents that have the
following properties may not print as expected:
- The document contains markup balloons that show revision
marks, such as comments and tracked changes.
- The document has multiple page orientations, that is, the
pages alternate between portrait page orientation and
landscape page orientation.
When you try to print a Word 2004 for Mac document with the
Print What list set to Document showing
markup, the document prints in the page orientation that first occurs
in the document. For example, if the first section in the document is in
landscape orientation, the whole document prints in
landscape orientation, ignoring any sections in the document
that are set to print in portrait orientation. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, you can turn off markup
balloons and print all tracked changes. To do this, follow these steps:
- On the Word menu, click
Preferences.
- Click Track Changes.
- Under Balloons click to clear the
Use balloons to display changes check box, and then click
OK.
- On the File menu, click
Print.
- Click Microsoft Word from the
Options list in the Print dialog box.
- Click Document showing markup on the
Print What list.
- Click Print.
