Placeholder text of XML schema element always prints in Word 2003 (841150)

SYMPTOMSWhen you print a Microsoft Office Word 2003 document that contains XML schema elements with placeholder text, the placeholder text always prints when you print the document.
Note This problem also occurs when you view the document in print preview.CAUSEThis problem occurs when all the following conditions are true: - The Word 2003 document contains a XML schema element.
- The XML schema element contains placeholder text.
- The Show placeholder text for all empty elements option is selected or is not selected.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, follow these steps: - Start Word 2003, and then open the document that contains the XML schema elements.
- On the File menu, click Save As.
- Type a new name for the temporary copy of the document in the File name text box, change the Save in list box to a different folder, such as a temporary folder, and then click Save.
Note You must complete this step so that the original document is not changed. - In the temporary copy of the document, follow these steps:
- Right-click the XML element, and then click Attributes.
- In the Placeholder text text box, delete the placeholder text.
- Click OK.
- Repeat steps 4a through 4c for each XML element in the temporary document.
- On the Tools menu, click Templates and Add-Ins.
- On the XML Schema tab, click XML Options.
- In the XML Options dialog box, click to clear the Show placeholder text for all empty elements check box, and then click OK.
- Click OK to close the Templates and Add-ins dialog box.
- On the File menu, click Print.
After you are finished printing the document, discard (delete) the temporary copy of the document. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
