The DHCP server statistics may not be correct on Windows Server 2003 (841125)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Web Edition
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, 64-Bit Enterprise Edition

SYMPTOMS

When you view the dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) server statistics by using the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) DHCP snap-in or by using the Netsh.exe command prompt tool, information such as the total addresses and the available addresses may not be correct.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when a DHCP reservation has changed, and the DHCP service has not reconciled the change to the DHCP database. The DHCP service reconcile operation maintains synchronicity with the database for dynamically assigned leases, not for reservations.
