SYMPTOMSWhen you run the Make Collection utility (Makecoll.exe) remotely against a Microsoft Systems Management Server primary site that runs on a Windows Server 2003-based computer, you may receive the following error message: ERROR: Could not retrieve the Namespace Path CAUSEThis problem occurs because the Make Collection utility does not provide the correct level of DCOM authentication to the Windows Server 2003-based SMS provider.RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. To resolve this problem, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the hotfix.
