SYMPTOMSWhile you are playing a DVD movie on a Microsoft Windows
XP-based computer, a semi-transparent window or a semi-transparent dialog box that appears on your screen from another program may flicker. For example,
the Input Method Editor (IME) toolbar may flicker if it is visible on the screen while you are playing your DVD movie.
This problem also occurs if you start the program while the DVD movie is
playing.
If you move the DVD movie window, this flickering may become more
pronounced.CAUSEThis problem occurs because some of the DirectDraw features
that your DVD movie player uses interfere with the presentation and the appearance
of semi-transparent windows.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, close the window from
the program that is experiencing this problem. In some cases, you must
quit the program to close this window.STATUSMicrosoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
in the "Applies to" section.
