You receive a "The access control settings could not be saved" error message when you add a new permission entry in Virtual Server 2005 (840604)

SYMPTOMSWhen you add a user or group permission entry to the Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 security settings, and you then click Apply to save your changes, you receive the following error message: The access control settings could not be saved. The parameter is incorrect. CAUSEThis issue occurs if you click to clear the Control check box when you create the permission entry for that user or group.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, click to select the Control check box when you create the new permission entry. To do this, follow these steps: - Open the Virtual Server Administration Website Web page. To do this, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Virtual Server, and then click Virtual Server Administration Website.
- Type your user name and password in the corresponding boxes, and then click OK.
- Click Server Properties, and then click Virtual Server security.
- Click Add entry, type the user or group that you want to add, click to select the check box that corresponds to the permission level that you want to assign, click to select the Control check box if it is not already selected, and then click Apply.
