The BizTalk Server 2004 MIME/SMIME Decoder component cannot decrypt incoming messages (840588)

SYMPTOMS

The Microsoft BizTalk 2004 MIME/SMIME Decoder component in a custom receive pipeline may not decrypt an incoming message. You may receive the following error messages in the application event log:

The Messaging Engine is dropping the message due to authentication failure. The message came from Receive Location URL "/Responder/BTSHTTPReceive.dll?xRNResponseType=async".

There was a failure executing the receive pipeline: "Microsoft.Solutions.BTARN.CommonTypes.RNIFReceive" Source: "MIME/SMIME decoder" Receive Location: "/Responder/BTSHTTPReceive.dll?xRNResponseType=async" Reason: Exception of type System.OutOfMemoryException was thrown.

RESOLUTION

Service pack information

Hotfix information

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was corrected in BizTalk Server 2004 Service Pack 1.
