Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article.
  • "Cannot connect to server at this time. Your list cannot be published." error message when you import a Microsoft Office Excel 2003 spreadsheet to use as a basis for a new list

    Your Windows SharePoint Services Web site is configured to use Basic authentication. You click Create on the top navigation bar of a Web page in the Windows SharePoint Services Web site, and then you click Import Spreadsheet to create a new list that is based on a Microsoft Office Excel 2003 spreadsheet. You specify the name of the list and the location of the spreadsheet on the New List page. When you click Import, you are not prompted to type your user name and password as expected. Instead, you receive the following error message:
    Cannot connect to the server at this time. Your list cannot be published.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer stops responding (hangs) when you try to upload multiple documents to a document library

    You connect to a document library, and then you click Upload document. When you click Upload Multiple Files to upload multiple files to the document library, Internet Explorer unexpectedly stops responding (hangs). You experience this symptom when the following conditions are true:
    • You are running one of the following versions of Windows SharePoint Services:
      • Simplified Chinese
      • Traditional Chinese
      • Korean
    • You connect to the document library from a client computer that is running one of the following versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system:
      • Simplified Chinese
      • Traditional Chinese
      • Korean
