The user interface in FrontPage 2003 appears in English after you use the Office 2003 Language Settings tool to change the language settings (840269)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003, you may find that although you use the Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings tool to configure the language settings to use a language other than English, and although you installed the appropriate Microsoft Office 2003 Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI Pack) on your computer, the language settings are not applied to FrontPage 2003. User interface components of FrontPage 2003, such as menus and dialog boxes, appear in English.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if the system locale settings of your computer do not match the language of the user interface that you want to use in FrontPage 2003.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, change the system locale of your computer to use the language of the user interface that you want to use in FrontPage 2003.

For example, if you want user interface components of FrontPage 2003 to appear in Korean, you have to set the system locale of your computer to Korean if FrontPage 2003 and the version of Microsoft Windows that is installed on your computer is English, and the Korean MUI Pack is installed on your computer.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

For Help and plug-in components, FrontPage 2003 does not support using a language that is different from the system language.
