Using Alien Computing's FAXIT with Works for Windows (84409)

SUMMARY

If Microsoft Works for Windows and Alien Computing's FAXIT product are not working together correctly, check the following:

  • Verify that you are using FAXIT version 2.15e or later. For information on how to obtain the latest FAXIT software and hardware, contact Alien Computing. If you are having problems using the FAXIT package with any software, contact Alien Computing at the above number to verify that the software and hardware is configured correctly. -and-

  • Make sure that you are not using FAXIT with an Intel Satisfaction board. Alien Computing licensed version 1.53 of the FAXIT package to Intel, and Intel supports that version entirely. Intel has verified that FAXIT version 1.53 does not work correctly with Works for Windows. If you try to cancel the FAXIT printer driver in Works, Works indicates that it is printing copy after copy of the document, but Works does not fax any copies and does not stop printing until you reboot the system. There is currently no workaround available for this problem.
