The e-mail attachment does not appear in the received e-mail message in Outlook 2002 (839946)

SYMPTOMSWhen you forward an e-mail message that contains an attachment in Microsoft Outlook 2002, the attachment may not appear in the received e-mail message, or you receive one of the following error messages when you forward the e-mail message: Attachment could not be opened. Unable to open one or more attachments. CAUSEThis behavior occurs if the following conditions are true: - You forward a Rich Text Format or plain text formatted e-mail message with an attachment that is from your personal folder (.pst) file.
- You have McAfee GroupShield for Microsoft Exchange installed on your Microsoft Exchange Server.
WORKAROUNDUse one of the following methods to work around this behavior. Method 1: Change the OpenRetryDelay setting in GroupShield back to the default value on the Exchange ServerTo change the OpenRetryDelay setting in GroupShield on your Exchange Server, follow these steps: - Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
- Locate and then click the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\VirusScan - Click OpenRetryDelay.
- On the Edit menu, click Modify.
- In the Value data box, type 500, and then click OK.
- On the File menu, click Exit.
- Quit and then restart the GroupShield service.
- Restart Outlook 2002 on your client computers.
