The Print dialog box requires 60 seconds to display when you print from an application on a client computer that is running Windows 2000 (839858)

SYMPTOMS

You open an application, such as Microsoft Word, on a client computer that is running Microsoft Windows 2000. After you do this, you try to print from the application to a printer that is connected to a Novell print server. However, when you click Print in the application, the Print dialog box requires 60 seconds to display.

This problem occurs when the length of the printer name together with the length of the server name (\\ServerName\PrinterName) is more than 31 characters.

To work around this problem, shorten the combined length of the printer name and the server name to be less than 31 characters.
