SYMPTOMS
When you create an external link by using the Microsoft Content Management Server (MCMS) 2002 Web Browser Client (WBC), the link may appear corrupted. This problem occurs when the link contains the same string value as the MCMS server name. This server name appears in the Microsoft Internet Explorer address bar when you edit by using the MCMS WBC. Then, the link is mistakenly threaded as an internal link.
For example, if the site name of the MCMS server is
TEST and the link that is created is http://
TESTSite, the link is not saved correctly. In this example, the link is saved as the following link:
http://Site/NameOfThePageTemplate/TEST
The link is broken up, and the name of the page template is mistakenly inserted in the middle of the link. This behavior causes the link to appear corrupted.
