FIX: Cannot retrieve an IP address from the DHCP server (838762)

SYMPTOMS

When a Microsoft Windows CE .NET 4.1 device has two or more network cards, the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) configured adaptors may not retrieve IP addresses from the DHCP server. This problem occurs after a suspend-and-resume cycle.

Software update information

Prerequisites

This update is supported only if all previously issued updates for this product have also been installed.

Restart requirement

After you install this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole operating system. To perform a clean build of the operating system, follow these steps:
  1. On the Build menu, click Clean.
  2. On the Build menu, click Build Platform.
You do not have to restart your computer after you apply this update.

This update does not replace any other updates.
