Wheel button no longer works as a middle button with IntelliPoint 5.0 (838618)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to use the wheel button as a middle button in a program that supports three-button mouse devices with any one of the products listed in the "Applies To" section, the program may not respond.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur after you install Microsoft IntelliPoint software.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, follow these steps.

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.
  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Click Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Mouse.
  3. On the Buttons tab, in the Wheel button list, select AutoScroll.
  4. Click OK.
