Access Violation in the Docsredir.exe process when you redirect the My Documents folder to a computer that is running Windows Small Business Server 2003 (838432)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Client Document Redirection tool in Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 to redirect the My Documents folders from client computers to the server, an access violation may occur in the Docsredir.exe process and an Error Reporting dialog box may appear.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because of a known issue with the Document Redirection tool.

WORKAROUND

There currently is no workaround for this behavior, but you can safely ignore the access violation. This access violation error does not cause any loss of data or corruption of data and the settings that you selected in the tool are still applied.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article.
