FIX: You cannot remove an application ID after you create it by using a database functoid in BizTalk Server 2004 (838224)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, if you use a database functoid to create an application ID, you may notice that you cannot delete this application ID.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

This hotfix adds functionality that permits you to delete an application ID that was created by using the Get Application ID functoid in a map. These functoids use the CrossReferencing APIs. For more information about the CrossReferencing APIs, see the online documentation.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article.

To remove this hotfix, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Settings, and then click Add/Remove Programs.
  2. In the list of installed programs, click this hotfix, and then click Remove.
  3. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft SQL Server, and then click SQL Query Analyzer.
  4. Change the selected database to the BizTalk Server 2004 Management database. By default, this database is named BizTalkMgmtDB.
  5. Open the Uninstall941_BTS_Deployment_Logic.sql file. This file is located in the folder where you originally extracted this hotfix.
  6. Run the removal script. To do this, use one of the following methods:
    • Press F5.
    • On the Query menu, click Execute.
