SYMPTOMSWhen you use just press ALT+F4 on the physical keyboard to start On-Screen Keyboard, the Settings menu on the Start may not open on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer.CAUSEThis issue occurs because you use the keyboard shortcut to start On-Screen Keyboard. When you start On-Screen Keyboard in this way, the Settings menu may not open even though you click Start, and then point to Settings.
This issue does not occur when you use a pointing device such as mouse to start On-Screen Keyboard.WORKAROUNDTo work around this issue occur, log off your computer, and then log on again.STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article.
