A check box that is not selected disappears from the user interface (838002)

SYMPTOMS

When you use build 13291 of Microsoft Windows Powered Pocket PC 2003, you may experience the following symptoms:
  • A check box does not appear where you expect it to appear in a window. Although an option that is not available typically appears dimmed or shaded, the check box option is missing and does not appear in the user interface.
  • If you clear a check box, another check box that is not selected disappears from the user interface.
Note This problem occurs on all the supported language versions except the world wide English (WWE) language version.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because a required resource is missing from the affected versions of the product.

RESOLUTION

This problem is resolved in later versions of the product.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Tap Start, tap Settings, tap the Connections tab, and then tap Connections.
  2. Select Set up my proxy server.
  3. In the My Work Network dialog box, clear the This network connects to the Internet check box.

    If the adjacent check box that is below the This network connects to the Internet check box is also cleared, the adjacent check box disappears from the dialog box.
