All the birthdays appear on January 1 in Calendar when you use Works 7.0 to import birthdays from the Windows Address Book (837925)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Calendar in Microsoft Works 7.0 to import birthdays from the Microsoft Windows Address Book, all the birthdays appear on January 1 in Calendar.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you have installed the Cumulative Patch for Microsoft Outlook Express. For additional information about the Cumulative Patch for Outlook Express, see the "More Information" section of this article.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, update to Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

To determine if the Cumulative Patch for Outlook Express is installed on your computer, follow these steps.

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.
  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  3. Click Change or Remove Programs, and verify whether Outlook Express Update Q330994 is in the list under Currently installed programs.

Note Installing the Outlook Express Cumulative Security Update (Q837009) will also cause this problem.

Note This problem can occur on Microsoft Windows 98-based computers. Right now, we have no resolution for this problem in Windows 98.
