Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows Server 2003 families include built-in support for IEEE 802.1x authentication. Learn more about IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN networking and its related authentication technologies for a Windows environment at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/technologies/networking/wifi/default.mspx/. Listen to the Support WebCast to hear the best practices use to configure the Windows 802.1x wireless client in a wireless corporate deployment. The presentation will provide a brief overview of the IEEE 802.1x specification and the Windows implementation of the Windows 802.1x client. The session will also discuss several ways to configure the wireless authentication based on certificates stored on the local PC or on a smart card, or based on user credentials (user name and password).

Jeff Baziuk has worked for Microsoft in Windows Networking for the past three years as a Software Test Engineer. His primary areas of expertise include wired and wireless client to server-based connections including Remote Access Services, Connection Manager Client, RAS Client, and wireless connectivity and security.
