The Task dialog box does not appear when you click Create Outlook Task in OneNote 2003 (837842)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Office OneNote 2003, Service Pack 1 (SP1)

SYMPTOMS

When you click Create Outlook Task in Microsoft Office OneNote 2003, the Task dialog box does not appear and the Task button flashes on the Microsoft Windows taskbar.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Task dialog box is hidden behind other windows that are on your computer screen when you follow these steps:
  1. You start OneNote 2003.
  2. You start Microsoft Office Outlook 2003.
  3. When you switch back to OneNote 2003.

WORKAROUND

Use one of the following methods to work around this behavior:
  • Click the Task button on the Windows taskbar to bring the Task dialog box in front of all the other windows that are on your computer screen.

    Note After you close the current Task dialog box, all subsequent Task dialog boxes that you open by clicking Create Outlook Task in OneNote 2003 will appear in front of all the other windows that are open on your computer screen.
  • Minimize all other open windows on your computer screen.
  • Start OneNote 2003, but do not start Outlook 2003.
