FIX: An MDX query runs slower when it uses a user-defined function in dynamic security in Analysis Services (837724)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services 64 bit

Plato7x #14252

Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2000 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2000 fix release.

SYMPTOMS

When a Multidimensional Expression (MDX) query is run against an Analysis Services computer that uses dynamic security, and the dynamic security makes calls to a user-defined function, the performance of the first MDX query is slow. The query runs as if you did not use a user-defined function. All queries that are run after the first query perform as expected.
