Office 2003 cannot run in "Windows 98/Windows Me" compatibility mode (837130)

following text: To see what data this error report contains, click here. CAUSEThis problem may occur if a Microsoft Office 2003 program is
run in an unsupported configuration. That is, an Office 2003 program may be
configured to run under Microsoft Windows Compatibility Mode as Windows
98 / Windows Me. Office 2003 requires Microsoft Windows 2000,
Microsoft Windows XP, or a later version of Microsoft Windows, and will not
operate correctly in Windows 98 / Windows Me compatibility
mode.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, turn off the compatibility mode
for Office 2003. To do this, follow these steps:
- Right-click Start, and then click
Explore.
- In Microsoft Windows File Explorer, click
Search.
- In the What do you want to search for area
of Search Companion, click All files and
folders.
- In the Look in box, click Local
Hard Drives.
- In the All or part of the file name box,
type the executable file name of the Office 2003 program that is causing the
problem.
For example, type one of the following:
- If Microsoft Office Word 2003 is listed in the error
message that is described in the "Symptoms" section, type
Winword.exe.
- If Microsoft Office Excel 2003 is listed in the error
message that is described in the "Symptoms" section, type
Excel.exe.
- If Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 is listed in the error
message that is described in the "Symptoms" section, type
Outlook.exe.
- To start the search, click Search or click
Search Now.
- When the search is completed, there should be one or more
items in the Search Results list. If there is more than one item in the list,
pick the item that has the correct program icon or that is in the correct
folder. For example, the default installation path for an Office 2003 program
is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11.
- Right-click the item, and then click
Properties.
- On the Compatibility tab, click to clear
the Run this program in compatibility mode for check box in
the Compatibility area, and then click
OK.
- If you have to, repeat steps 8 and 9 for each item that you
find in the Search Results window.
