SYMPTOMS
With Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) under Microsoft Windows Server 2003, when you run a query that filters the result set on an embedded object value, you may receive the following error message:
Not Supported (0x8004100C)
An embedded object is an object of a class that exists in a class or in an instance declaration of another class.
For example, the Win32_SecurityDescriptor class contains Win32_Trustee embedded objects. Each of the Win32_Trustee objects contains a Win32_ACE object.
RESOLUTION
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing.
