A problem may occur when you use ActiveSync to synchronize your Pocket PC with a computer that is running Outlook 2000 and Windows XP (836633)

Or, when you use ActiveSync to synchronize your Pocket PC with a computer that is running Outlook 2000 and Windows XP, you may receive the following error message: Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. A required component is missing. Omi9.dll CAUSEThis behavior may occur if one of the following conditions is true: - A migration upgrade to Windows XP may not have completed or may have failed.
- The properties for the ActiveSync desktop shortcut are incorrect.
- The properties for Microsoft ActiveSync are set incorrectly in All Programs.
RESOLUTIONTo correct the properties for the ActiveSync desktop shortcut, follow these steps: - Right-click the ActiveSync desktop shortcut, and then click Properties.
- On the Compatibility tab, click to clear the Run this program in compatibility mode for check box, and then click OK.
- Restart Microsoft Windows.
To correct the properties in All Programs, follow these steps: - Click Start, point to All Programs, right-click Microsoft ActiveSync, and then click Properties.
- On the Compatibility tab, click to clear the Run this program in compatibility mode for check box, and then click OK.
- Restart Windows.
