Public folders can be created with Arabic names but not Arabic Alias (836584)

Public folders are used to contain items to be available to group of recipients. Item types include messages, contacts and notes. For example, you can have a public folder for all vendors' information within your company. You can create public folders with Arabic name and description. When creating Public folders from Outlook Web Access or Outlook client, the public folder is created without having an alias to allow sending email to that folder. To allow e-mails to be sent to this public folder, you should enable mail to this folder.

To enable mail to the public folder

1. Launch Exchange System Manager
2. Expand Folders, and then expand Public Folders
3. Right click on the public folder you want to enable the mail for it and choose All Tasks
4. From the submenu, select Mail Enable When Exchange Server 2003 enables mail to a public folder, it generates an alias to that folder. After creating the public folder, you can change its properties to rename the generated alias to something meaningful. The alias name you choose for your public folder cannot contain Arabic characters
