FIX: You cannot seek some MPEG4 content in Windows Media Player 9 Series (836544)

SYMPTOMS

When you play back some MPEG4 content on Windows Media Player 9 Series, the Seek slider is turned off.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the player receives an internal error when the player tries to determine the length of the content. Because of this error, the player incorrectly sets the length of the content at 0 seconds. This incorrect setting causes the Seek slider to be turned off.
