Windows may not detect your MN-710 wireless adapter after you upgrade from the MN-510 (836515)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Broadband Networking Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter MN-710, when used with:
    • the operating system: Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition
    • the operating system: Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition

SYMPTOMS

When you upgrade from the Microsoft Broadband Networking Wireless USB Adapter MN-510 to the Microsoft Broadband Networking Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter MN-710, Microsoft Windows may not detect the MN-710.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if you disconnect the MN-510, and then connect the MN-710 without restarting your computer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, restart your computer while the MN-710 is connected to your computer's USB port.
