Computers may not be able to connect to the MN-700 base station by using DHCP (836514)

SYMPTOMSClient computers may not be able to connect to your
Microsoft Broadband Networking Wireless Base Station MN-700 by using Dynamic
Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). When this issue occurs, the client computer
may be assigned the IP address "0.0.0.0" after a delay of approximately one
minute.CAUSEThis issue may occur when the client computer has a computer
name that exceeds the NetBIOS limitation of 15 characters. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, change the computer name of the
client computer to a name that is less than 15 characters long and does not
contain any special characters. To do so, follow these
steps. Microsoft Windows XP- Right-click My Computer, and then click
Properties.
- Click the Computer Name tab, and then
click Change.
- In the Computer Name box, type a name that
is less than 15 characters long and does not contain any special characters,
and then click OK.
Mac OS 10.4- Open System Preferences.
- Click Sharing.
- In the Computer Name box, type a name that is less than 15 characters long and that does not contain any special characters.
- Close Sharing
