  • Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 Partner Edition
  • Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 Standard Edition

SYMPTOMS

In the Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 Administration Console, the Sts.Outbox receive port is disabled. Because the Sts.Outbox receive port is disabled, the Business Activity Services component does not function correctly.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if the DefaultReceiveLocation folder has been removed from the following location:

Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\BizTalk Server 2004

The BizTalk Server Setup program sets the DefaultReceiveLocation folder as the Receive Location URI for the Business Activity Services Web site when the Setup program registers the BizTalk Server Business Activity Services component. The Business Activity Services Web site is created on the computer that is running BizTalk Server when you install the BizTalk Server Business Activity Services component.

However, when you repair the BizTalk Server 2004 installation, the DefaultReceiveLocation folder is not re-created.

RESOLUTION

Recreate the DefaultReceiveLocation folder with the following permissions:
User or GroupPermissions
Administrators GroupFull Control
SYSTEM accountFull Control
BizTalk Application Users GroupRead, Read & Execute, Write, List Folder Contents, Delete SubFolders and Files (special permission)
Note This folder must have the exact permissions that are defined in the table above.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
