Media files are not deleted from the Temporary Internet Files folder if an error occurs (835871)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows CE .NET 4.2

SYMPTOMS

If you receive an error message when you play a media file from a link on a Web page, the temporary file is not deleted from the Temporary Internet Files folder.

CAUSE

Microsoft Internet Explorer passes execution to an external application, and expects the application to remove the temporary file when the process is completed. If the application fails because of an error, the file is never removed.

RESOLUTION
