Issues that are fixed in the hotfix package

The following issue is fixed in this hotfix package, but was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • When you use the Self-learning feature in the Input Method Editor and repeatedly type the same Chinese (Traditional) character, your Office 2003 program may quit unexpectedly and you receive an error message that is similar to the following:
    Microsoft program has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
    If you view the details of the error message, you receive an error signature that is similar to the following:

    Note The Self-learning feature is a tool that helps the Microsoft Pinyin IME to memorize your jargons and writing habits quickly. To turn the Self-learning feature on (default), follow these steps:
    1. Click Menu on the Language Bar, and then click Options.
    2. On the Language tab, click to select the Enable Self-learning check box.
    3. Click OK to close the Microsoft Pinyin Options dialog box.
