Information is missing in messages when OWA users in Exchange 2000 reply to a message several times (835259)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server
SYMPTOMSWhen you use Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, information that is contained in a message is either missing, or OWA does not display the information correctly. This problem occurs when you do the following: - You use OWA to send a message to a recipient who also uses OWA.
- Both you and the recipient reply to the same message several times.
You may experience one or more of the following symptoms: - The contents of the Subject box of the message are missing.
- The sender of the message is missing from the From box of the message.
- The body of the message is missing.
CAUSEThis problem may occur if all the following conditions are true: - Both you and the recipient of the message use OWA.
- Both you and the recipient reply to the same message several times. For example, this problem may occur if the message contains 10 or more replies where you replied to the message from the recipient, and the recipient replied to the message from you.
- The version of the Store.exe file that is installed on the server is later than 6472.0
In this situation, the References part of the message header is larger than 1,024 bytes. Therefore, Exchange 2000 incorrectly processes the carriage return/line feed (CR/LF) characters and the tab characters that are located in the References part of the message header. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the August 2004 Exchange 2000 Server Post-Service Pack 3 update rollup.
