Hyperlinks that are in your signature file do not work as expected when an Entourage X e-mail message is opened on a computer that is running Windows (835160)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Entourage X for Mac to send an e-mail message that contains an attachment, you find that any hyperlinks that are in your signature file do not work as expected when the e-mail message is opened on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if all the following conditions are true:
  • The e-mail message is sent from Entourage X for Mac in HTML format.
  • The e-mail message contains an attachment.
  • The e-mail message contains a signature that contains a hyperlink.
  • The e-mail message is opened with a Microsoft program (such as Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Outlook Express) on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, change the e-mail format for the e-mail message to plain text, and then send the e-mail message with the attachment.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article.
