Drawings print larger or print smaller than expected in Visio 2003 (834843)

SYMPTOMS

When you print a drawing in Microsoft Office Visio 2003, the drawing may print larger or may print smaller than expected.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you change the printer resolution (such as from 1200 dpi to 600 dpi) in your printer's properties.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, do not use the printer properties in Visio 2003 to change the printer resolution. Instead, follow these steps to change the printer resolution:
  1. Quit Visio 2003.
  2. Click Start, and then click Printers and Faxes.
  3. Right-click your printer, and then click Properties.
  4. After you change your printer resolution, restart Visio 2003, and then print your drawing.

This problem is fixed in the Visio 2003 post-Service Pack 1 hotfix package that is dated October 21, 2004.
