SYMPTOMSIf a user tries to access a redirected folder after an administrator uses the Folder Redirection feature in Group Policy, a folder that is named %homedrive% appears on the user's desktop.CAUSEThis problem may occur if you install Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, and you use the %homedrive% variable in the path of the redirected folder.RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, type the absolute path of the redirected folder. Do not type the %homedrive% variable in the path of the redirected folder.
