The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional
  • Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

SYMPTOMS

When you try to print a graphic file to a PostScript printer on a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer, some aspects of the print job may not print correctly. For example, the following items may be printed too large, or they may be printed on the wrong part of the page:
  • Transparent text
  • Graphics
  • Bullets
  • Rotated text

CAUSE

This issue may occur if all the following conditions are true:
  • You configure the print job to print at 1200 dots per inch (dpi).
  • You print to a PostScript printer.
  • You print from a program that uses Windows GDI+ technology.

Note GDI+ is the part of the Windows XP or the Windows Server 2003 operating system that provides two-dimensional vector graphics, imaging, and typography. GDI+ improves on Windows Graphics Device Interface (GDI) by adding new features and by optimizing existing features.
