A DNS query times out when you use a static IP address (834113)



The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows CE .NET 4.2

SYMPTOMS

When you use IP addresses that are statically assigned, the DNS query will occasionally time out.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Microsoft Windows CE .NET 4.2 may, under some circumstances, send a DNS query that has an inverted IP address.

RESOLUTION
