Microsoft has released an update to Microsoft Access 2002. This update fixes an issue where descending indexes in Access 2002 that have been upsized to SQL Server may still be upsized as ascending indexes after you install Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 3. This update makes sure that Access 2002 wizard files are updated correctly.

Note Run the Upsizing Wizard before you install this update. If you do not run the Upsizing Wizard before you install this update, and the wizard has the Install on Demand option turned on, the wizard may not be updated correctly and the update may not work as expected.

Notes
  • After you install the update, you cannot remove it. To revert to an installation before the update was installed, you must remove Office XP and then install it again from the original CD-ROM.

The linked table view can no longer be updated

If you update the link to a SQL Server View in Access 2002, the linked table (view) can no longer be updated.

English language strings are taken from the form in the Microsoft Access database (MDE)

When you run the User Level Security Wizard, some English language strings may be taken from the form in the Microsoft Access database (MDE). The expected behavior is that the string is loaded from the Acwizrc.dll file.
