MORE INFORMATION

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. If the Show Desktop, Internet Explorer, and Windows Media Player icons are not already in the Quick Launch bar, add them now so that these icons appear from left to right.
  2. Create two shortcuts to folders, and then drag them to the Quick Launch bar.

After you complete this step, the icons in the Quick Launch bar are Show Desktop, Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, the first folder shortcut, and the second folder shortcut.
  3. Drag the icon for the first folder shortcut to the left in the Quick Launch bar so that it appears immediately to the left of the icon for Windows Media Player.

After you complete this step, the icons in the Quick Launch bar are Show Desktop, Internet Explorer, the first folder shortcut, Windows Media Player, and the second folder shortcut.
  4. Drag a .txt file to each of the Quick Launch bar shortcuts.
When you drag a .txt file to the icon of the first folder shortcut, Windows tries to open the .txt file in Windows Media Player.
