Access violation error when you try to import a certificate on a computer that is running Windows 2000 or Windows XP (833828)

SYMPTOMS

Consider this scenario: You use the Certificate Manager console on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows XP, and you use the Certificate Import Wizard to select a certificate to import. When you click Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate on the Certificate Store page of the Certificate Import Wizard, the certificate cannot be imported, and an access violation error occurs.
